The apparition of a woman in a white dress has been seen on the stairs and in the second-floor turret bedroom of this homey cottage.

She is Ella Brown,wife of Episcopalian Bishop William Brown.The agnostic bishop was expelled from the church in 1924 for exposing his disbelief’s in anything supernatural,including God.Oddly enough the bishop’s ghost has been reported as well.

The beautiful ghost of Ethyl Hanley, the nineteen year old daughter of a family that farmed here in the early 1900′shas been seen roaming the hills overlooking her home.

Dressed in white, her silent form appears momentarilty,leaving behind the scent of lilacs.Ethyl had planned to marry civil engineer Frank Burbank.

The two postponed their marriage for several years so he could complete his education, but few days before the ceremonies the young girl was killed in a tragic accident.

She was thrown from a carriage and cracked her head on a stone bridge abutment.Locals say that it was Frank’s deep mourning that brought her spirit back.
